April 18, 2008 Educator, Santa Barbara Christian School Carri is a gifted teacher who enjoys working with middle school students. Since 2000, she has taught English at Santa Barbara Christian School; previously she spent seven years at Santa Barbara Junior High School. She graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in English and earned her teaching credential there. Carri grew up as the only Christian in her family and attended church with neighbors. Carri Svoboda As a young child, Carri Lynn Svoboda moved often as her father, who was in the Air Force, was stationed all over the world. The family finally settled down in

After high school, Carri moved to Santa Barbara, where in 1992 she received her Bachelors Degree in English from UCSB and the following year she received her teaching credential from the same institution. Carri taught 8th grade English for seven years at Santa Barbara Junior High and is currently teaching 6,7, & 8 English, 7 Bible & 8 History at Santa Barbara Christian School. Carri's religious training was eclectic, as her mother was raised in a Mormon home and her dad was raised Catholic. She accepted Christ after a Divine revelation
